Reliable infrastructure is the foundation of a safe, accessible and well-functioning community. Roads, bridges, water and wastewater systems, stormwater management, transit, parks and public facilities are among the most important responsibilities of municipal government.
Stratford has made significant progress in renewing its infrastructure and planning for its long-term needs. That work must continue. Delaying necessary maintenance and replacement generally results in higher costs for future taxpayers, which is why consistent planning and responsible investment are essential.
As Stratford grows, we must also ensure that new residential and employment development is supported by the infrastructure and municipal services it requires—and that those investments are planned and funded responsibly.
My Priorities
- Continue the planned renewal of roads, bridges, water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure
- Follow responsible long-term asset-management and financial plans
- Coordinate road and underground infrastructure projects to reduce disruption and avoid duplicating work
- Improve stormwater systems and infrastructure resilience in response to severe weather
- Ensure infrastructure investments support future residential and employment growth
- Maintain a safe, reliable and accessible public transit system
- Continue implementing practical pedestrian and cycling improvements
- Invest in parks, trails, recreational facilities and public spaces that support strong neighbourhoods and quality of life
