About Brad

I have lived and worked in Stratford and the surrounding area throughout my life, and I remain deeply committed to our community and its future.
I was first elected to Stratford City Council in 2010. For the past 16 years, it has been my privilege to represent the people of Stratford and help make decisions that affect our neighbourhoods, services and quality of life.
I am proud to have worked alongside fellow councillors, City staff and community partners to build upon the strong foundation created by those who served before us.
I am a graduate of Northwestern Secondary School and Carleton University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. My professional career has included senior leadership roles in business and community organizations, including serving as General Manager of the Stratford and District Chamber of Commerce and as a senior executive in the private sector. Earlier in my career, I worked for a community agency helping people prepare for and find employment.


Municipal Leadership and Community Service

During my four terms on Stratford City Council, I have accepted a wide range of responsibilities that have allowed me to contribute to many areas of our community.
My current municipal and community responsibilities include:
  • Member of Stratford’s Economic Development Committee
  • Member of the Festival Hydro Board
  • Member of the City’s Board of Park Management
  • Chair of Stratford Communities in Bloom
  • National and international Communities in Bloom judge
These responsibilities have provided me with valuable experience in economic development, municipal services, infrastructure, environmental stewardship and community improvement. They have also allowed me to work closely with residents, businesses, community organizations and municipal partners.
I take these responsibilities seriously and remain actively involved in the work of each organization. They have strengthened my understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing Stratford and continue to inform the decisions I make at the Council table.


My Record on Council

My municipal service has always been focused on practical results, responsible decision-making and the long-term interests of Stratford.
Over four terms on Council, I have supported important investments and decisions that have helped Stratford move forward, including:
  • Encouraging new investment and employment opportunities that have strengthened and diversified our local economy.
  • Renewing roads, water, wastewater and other essential municipal infrastructure.
  • Transforming Market Square into a welcoming public space in the heart of our downtown.
  • Supporting the creation of affordable housing and a broader range of housing choices.
  • Promoting responsible financial planning and careful management of public funds.
  • Advancing the redevelopment of the Grand Trunk site as a significant long-term opportunity for our community.
  • Supporting the parks, public spaces and community services that contribute to Stratford’s quality of life.
No councillor accomplishes these things alone. They are the result of decisions made collectively by Council, supported by City staff and strengthened through partnerships across our community. I am proud of the role I have played in that work.
Throughout my time on Council, I have worked hard to understand the facts behind each issue, listen to different perspectives and make decisions based on what I believe is in Stratford’s best interests.


Family and Community

Stratford is home for my family. Sherri and I have been married for 30 years, and we are the proud parents of our sons, Brayden and Brock. They are now 24 and both work here in Stratford.
As a family, we have always believed in supporting our community through local organizations, community events and causes that strengthen the lives of others. Those values of service, responsibility and caring for our neighbours continue to guide me in both my personal life and my work on City Council.


Looking Ahead

Stratford is already a strong and successful community. As we continue to grow, we must build carefully on that foundation while preparing responsibly for the future.
That means supporting local businesses and employment, strengthening our neighbourhoods, expanding housing choices, renewing essential infrastructure and advancing important projects such as the Grand Trunk redevelopment. It also means recognizing the financial pressures facing residents and ensuring that public dollars are managed responsibly.
My priorities remain sustainable economic development, thoughtful long-term planning and financial accountability. These are essential to protecting the quality of life that makes Stratford such a special place to live, work and raise a family.
I am seeking re-election because experience matters—and because there is still important work ahead. It would be an honour to continue serving Stratford with experience and leading with care.
